worship and doubt

After the resurrection, Jesus met the disciples, and Matthew 28:17 says 'When they saw him, they worshiped him; but some doubted.' [Matthew 28:17 NIV]

Firstly, let’s talk about doubt. In verse 20 Jesus says, ‘And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age’. That was directed to all of the disciples, not just those who didn’t doubt. Your doubt has zero impact on Jesus’ promise of being with you. It’s ok to doubt.

Secondly, what exactly did the disciples do to worship Jesus? It seems pretty unlikely that one of them whipped out a guitar and started singing “My Jesus, My Saviour”.

What would you do? If Jesus strolled over to you right now, would it be doubt? (It almost certainly would for me!).

And if worship, what exactly would you do?

… and why are you not already doing that?
